I’ve noticed recently that I seem to gravitate to words that start with “c,” so I did some investigating and thought I would share.
A couple years ago, my friend and I went through Simon Sinek’s book, Find your Why together. For my “why,” the themes that emerged through our reflection and discussion were:
Connection Curiosity Courage
And these felt so good.
I had found a combination of words that reflected how I aim to flow through the world. And these words have helped guide me ever since.
They all started with the letter c.
And then I started to see “c” popping up other places:
I often tell my son to stay “calm and confident” when he is on the wall climbing
I love thinking about cultivating what we want to see more of in the world
I prefer to see challenges as opportunities to dive in and learn more
I left my job with a deep feeling that I wanted to create something and contribute to the world in a new way
While it always feels elusive, I strive to feel content with the choices I am making and the person I am
Building community feels like the best way to make an impact and feel collective inspiration
Cacophony, conundrum, and calamity are just cool words that I love finding excuses to say
I wonder, do you have words that you love (they may or may not all start with the same letter!)? I’d love to hear about your own letter affinity or just a favorite word that starts with “c” that speaks to you.
And just in case you need a quick throwback, here’s a link to Cookie Monster’s famous song.
Curiosity is my favorite "C" word. It opens the door to connection with other people, and those relationships support wellbeing. Curiosity also supporting continuous learning and growth, which also amps up human flourishing.
I love it! You got me thinking. 🥰
My favorite words lately have been words I share and discuss with my kids often, and they tend to start with vowels:
- Awareness
- Advocate
- Emotional intelligence
- Intention
- Enunciate
- (seek) Understanding
