Supermoms & Superpowers
I can find things! Even those things that have been “lost forever.” And I think lots of other moms can too.
My kids once asked me what my superpower was. I didn’t have to think long before I said “finding things.” They nodded, “ah yea, that makes sense.”

It wasn’t very exciting, but it was true (and useful!). From conversations with countless other moms, I have come to believe that all moms possess a sixth sense for finding the “unfindable.” It’s like we have an an invisible radar that is constantly scanning and taking note:
A water bottle rolling around in the back of the car Flip flops popped in backpack A jacket peaking out from under the covers Leftovers for lunch on the the second shelf of the fridge A favorite stuffy down the crack between bed and wall
Inevitably there comes a time when panic sets in, kids/partner/spouse/husband/wife are hurrying out the door and searching frantically for the water bottle, flip flops, jacket, stuffy or the lunch, claiming the item “lost forever.”
Luckily they have a “supermom” who is able to pull up the archived radar screens, locate the item and get them out the door with all items in tact.
I take great pride in my finding superpower!
But what happens when I can’t find something?
Well…that’s not pleasant - another story for another day. Today, I am staying positive and celebrating what we can and do find!
Cheers to moms of all kinds with all sorts of superpowers and a special wink to all the moms who share this special power of finding.
Happy Mother’s Day!
